When it comes to Chicago photographers, we love the work of Edyta Szyszlo. She simply has color and light down—and we think Jaimie & Jason would agree! We can’t say enough how sweet we think they are too. The rose purse, those shoes, the love look between them, seriously beautiful engagement shots! We were overjoyed to get to talk with Jaimie about how the couple met, their wedding plans and what she’s loving about Chicago…keep on reading!

“Jason and I met at what was then—and even more so now—one of our favorite local neighborhood spots, Morseland Café in Rogers Park. I was sitting at the bar with my girlfriend—and now bridesmaid—Katherine. Jason sauntered over from the pool area to ask me if I wanted to dance and I told him I didn’t dance. His response? ‘Good, I don’t either!’ He grabbed my hand, pulling me onto the dance floor and we’ve been dancing ever since!”

“As individuals, Jason and I are very different. He’s the playful, easy-going one while I’m the serious, driven one. But, as a couple, we are perfectly balanced in our desire to seek adventure, continuous laughter and unwavering support. That’s what’s really kept our relationship feeling fresh and exciting.”

“The best part of our engagement session was exploring and finding new hidden coves in the city we have grown to love so much. There were definitely moments throughout the experience when we forgot the camera was rolling and we just lost ourselves in each other, nestled in the romanticism that is Chicago.”
